We offer two distinct certificate programs that are tailored to the needs of your specific congregation.

CERTIFICATE in Innovational Church Renewal and/or new church

Complete a rigorous series of assessments, online training, and coaching sessions to equip you with the innovative skills for 21st century ministry. You will not only sharpen your skills, but you will connect with a cohort of supportive colleagues on the same journey.

The certification process includes:

  • Stregthsfinder Assessment.
  • MissionInsite Report of Community: Understand your local church community demographics with the data normally only accessible to denominational leadership. (includes an analysis of the report and a 30 minute phone call with a CPR staff member)
  • Online Curriculum: Four On-Demand Online courses (each participant is asked to keep a portfolio of your learning experiences and coaching sessions).
    • Innovations in New Church Leadership (1.0 & 2.0 sequence)
    • Innovations in Church Renewal Leadership (1.0 &2.0 sequence)
    • Conflict Transformation,
    • Operational Leadership or  Mini MBA for Innovation
  • 12 months of membership in CPR – recorded webinars, resources and discounts
  • 12 months of Coaching:
    • Choose either a 12 session Coaching Cohort: Participate in a content-rich coaching group led by an experienced ministry coach. This includes an opening one-on-one coaching session, monthly group coaching calls and closed online interactive forum.
    • Or choose a 6 sessions of one-on-one coaching with a n experienced ministry coach.
  • End-of-Year Assessment: Reflect on the year with a phone session from one of our consultants to co-assess your Leadership Portfolio.  Each participant upon completion will receive a certificate suitable for framing and  may use their Certificate completion on their resume or ministry profile.

CERTIFICATE in Threshold Congregational Leadership

Once you are accepted into the Certificate Program:  You will participate in a rigorous series of assessments, online training, and coaching sessions to equip you with the specialized skills of leading and accompanying a Threshold congregation that is facing events such as; selling and re-locating church property, merging & collaborating with another congregation and churches making the faithful but difficult decision to end the active life of their congregation in order to share their legacy for future good work. You will not only sharpen your skills, but you will connect with a cohort of supportive colleagues on the same journey.

The certification process includes:

  • Completion and approval of Certificate Application
  • Stregthsfinder 2.0 Assessment.
  • Online Curriculum: Four On-Demand Online courses (each participant is asked to keep a portfolio of your learning experiences and coaching sessions).
    • Conflict Transformation,
    • Operation & Systems (understanding  and assessing financials, financial reporting, taxes, assets & contents, insurance, facilities and legal issues)
    • Worship Resources and Pastoral Care in serving a Threshold Congregation
    • Threshold Ministry in Practice: Essential orientation, wider perspectives, best practices, ethical dimensions, legacy discernment and available resources for Threshold Congregations
  • 12 months of membership in CPR – recorded webinars, resources and discounts
  • Required Texts: Toward a Better Country, UCC Living Legacy e-book
  • 12 months of Cohort Coaching: Participants will engage in a content-rich coaching group led by an experienced ministry coach. These calls will focus on threshold church case studies.  Participants will also be able to interact over a closed online forum.
  • The Certificate culminates with an End-of-Year Assessment:
    • Participants  will reflect on the year with a phone session from one of Threshold leadership team to co-assess your Leadership Portfolio.  Each participant upon completion will receive a certificate suitable for framing and  may use their Certificate completion on their resume or ministry profile.
