He served United Methodist churches in Oklahoma City and Chattanooga for 7 years before coming out as a gay Christian and being removed from the United Methodist church. God smiled on him again in May of 1990 when he was hired as the first full-time Director of Celebration at the Cathedral of Hope in Dallas.
David worked with the music and worship staff and volunteers there for 9 years to produce powerful worship at two morning worship services of over 1400 worshipers each Sunday. During those 9 years the World Wide Web came along and he taught himself website design and programming and started 2 Internet companies in 1997. In October of 1999 Cathedral of Hope asked him to become full-time Webmaster, which he did until July 2012.
David serves as Webmaster for Hope for Peace & Justice; The Center for Progressive Renewal and The Southeast Conference of the UCC and over 125 other small companies around the country.
