| CPR ONLINE COURSE: History & Polity in the UCC |
| | | Wednesday, August 29, 2012, 07:00pm To Wednesday, November 28, 2012 | | | |
| The purpose of this course is to explore the history, polity, theologies, and practices of the United Church of Christ and its predecessor denominations. The course will include an exploration of denominational identity, hidden histories within the denomination, case studies around current issues of polity and structure, current ecumenical conversations, emerging trends within the United Church of Christ, and more. Successful completion of this course will fulfill the history and polity requirement for authorized ministry in the United Church of Christ in most associations and conferences. However, please check with your own association for confirmation. Taking the course for credit can be arranged for full-time students of Candler School of Theology as a self-directed study in denominational studies. Arrangements must be made in advance with the facilitator, Tim Downs, and the registrar’s office. Please contact Tim Downs if you wish to take this class for credit in another seminary. All those taking the class for credit will be expected to complete an additional paper of 20-25 pages in length at the end of the class.
Dates: Wedneday, August 29 - November 28, 2012
The cost is $599.00.
