Rev. Donna E. AllenDonna E. Allen

Donna is a native of East Orange, New Jersey. From her youth, she has been active in the Baptist, Lutheran and Methodist church traditions. She has sought preparation in ministry through her education, which includes a Bachelor of Science (BS) from Seton Hall University; Masters of Divinity (MDiv) from Vanderbilt Divinity School, and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) with a concentration in homiletics and church history, also from Vanderbilt. Her dissertation title was "Toward A Womanist Homiletic: Katie Cannon, Alice Walker and Emancipatory Proclamation."

Teresa is the founding minister of Sacred Tapestry. She is currently completing her doctoral thesis on preaching to post-moderns at Aquinas Institute of Theology in St. Louis, MO. She holds an M. Div. from Emory University, and is an Ordained Elder in the United Methodist Church.

Hojung is a missionary. He was raised in presbyterian church in South Korea, ordained 1988 and sent by Kyung-Ki Presbytery, Presbyterian Church in the Republic of Korea (PROK) which overseas ecumenical partner of UCC to Connecticut Conference. He is a church founder, has experience as missionary in East Asian countries, while missionary work established several churches in different cultural setting and trained church developers. Established Korean churches in Connecticut 1999. Serving Storrs Korean Church and First Korean UCC. Has variety experience of various Asian cultures and churches.

Social Media Consultant

Kimberly Knight recently received her Master of Divinity from Candler School of Theology at Emory University. She graduated from Georgia State University with a BA in Religious Studies.  Prior to seminary she worked nearly five years as a public school activist in the city of Atlanta.  She brings to The Center for Progressive Renewal more than fifteen years of experience across a broad spectrum of technology settings including multimedia production and instructional technology. She currently serves as the pastor of an online congregation that has been gathering for two years in the cyber-world of Second Life. Kimberly, her partner and their two children are active members of Kirkwood United Church of Christ in Atlanta, Georgia.


Rev. Susan MitchellSusan Mitchell
Church Building & Loan Fund Consultant

Susan was the co-pastor of a new church start, Sankofa UCC, in Atlanta, GA and now serves with the Church Building and Loan Fund in Cleveland, OH. Susan began her ministry as a Christian educator, and, after some years, felt God's call to plant a church in Atlanta. Once a member of Trinity UCC in Chicago, she took her insights and learning from that context and has helped build a thriving new church in the South.


Jamie RomoJamie Romo

Most of his life has been formally linked to promoting social justice through education. HeI completed my doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of San Diego in 1998. Since the fall, 2008, he has been involved in this healing work across the country, consulting to church groups. In the past two years, he has also created resources for congregations and ministers, survivors and supporters, parents and teachers to promote healing and end sexual abuse, including 3 new books:  “Healing the Sexually Abused Heart: A Workbook for Survivors, Thrivers, and Supporters;” “Parents Preventing Abuse;” and “Teachers Preventing Abuse.” In these books, he brings a critical, educator voice to analyze policies and organizational cultures that have allowed sexual abuse of children and vulnerable adults.  “Teachers Preventing Abuse” includes Group Relations theory related to educational settings.
