| The fastest growing segment of our population are those who call themselves "Spiritual but not Religious". Church leaders who are finding ways to bridge faith with our new world are turning to ancient practices. Rev. Cathy Anderson is a highly regarded practitioner in using ancient practices to teach contemporary faith. In her five week online course she will lead students through seven ancient Christian practices. The goal is to equip you to create a plan for implementing practices into your faith community. The class will begin January 24th with a one hour conference call. Most of the class will involve, readings, resources, inter-action with other students and a project. There is not a required weekly time tha you have to be in class, however two other online live gatherings will take place during the course. Rev. Cathy Anderson currently serves as a hospital chaplain in Atlanta, Georgia. During 20 years of local church ministry, Cathy blazed the trail for those who work with children’s ministries in the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship (CBF). She is the author of the chapter on spiritual practices for the book Baptimergent: Baptist Stories from the Emergent Frontier. She helped to found the CBF Children’s Ministry Network and the Cobb Emergent Cohort, and she is a popular speaker at churches and conferences. A graduate of Carson Newman College and the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, she is a member of the Passport Kids National Children’s Advisory Council. She says that her best times are spent with her husband and two beautiful daughters.
